Max96735 converts the data of single open or double open LVDS (oldI) input port to single open or double open gmsl ™ High speed serial link protocol. It can also send and receive side channel and peripheral control data to realize full duplex transmission, single line transmission, video transmission and bidirectional data transmission. All products in the max96735 series support data transmission through one or two gmsl2 links. A single gmsl2 link can support PCLK of about 215 MHz. There are three modes of operation using two gmsl2 links. In independent mode, each 1x4 oldI input is dedicated to one gmsl2 link. The two video streams may have asymmetric timing. The maximum PCLK is up to 160 MHz per stream. In replication mode, a single stream up to 215mhz is routed to two gmsl2 links. In the dual link mode, two gmsl2 links drive a single stream to a gmsl2 deserializer with a total PCLK of up to 320mhz. The max96735 variant that supports HDCP provides HDCP v1.4 encryption for gmsl2 links. The concurrent control channel supports I2C or UART. In addition, two direct I2C / UART channels and one SPI channel are provided for peripheral control. Supports a single, forward path I2S audio channel. Data can be transmitted through a low-cost 50 Ω coaxial cable or 100 Ω STP cable that meets the gmsl2 channel specification.
