The max96712 deserializer converts the serial input of gmsl2 or gmsl1 into the output of Mipi csi-2d-phy or c-phy format. The device allows each link to simultaneously transmit bi-directional control channel data during forward video transmission. The max96712 can accommodate up to four remotely located sensors using industry standard coaxial cables or STP interconnectors. Each gmsl2 serial link operates at a fixed rate of 3 Gbps or 6 Gbps in the forward direction and 187.5 Mbps in the reverse direction. In gmsl1 mode, max96712 can be paired with the first generation 3.12gbps or 1.5gbps gmsl1 serializer, or operate up to 3.12gbps using gmsl2 serializer in gmsl1 mode. Max96712 supports aggregation and replication of video data, enabling streams from sensors at multiple remote locations to be combined and routed to one or more available csi-2 outputs. The data can also be routed based on the virtual channel ID so that multiple streams from a single gmsl input can be independently routed to different csi-2 outputs. In addition, data from multiple sensors may be synchronized and combined in a single csi-2 stream connected using frames within a composite superframe. The csi-2 interface can support the configuration of 2x4 lanes and 4x2 lanes by using c-phy or d-phy. Various peripheral communication options are provided for flexible local register access and remote device programming. Three I2C / UART ports support redundant local or remote internal register access with concurrent or tunnel remote peripheral communication. The other two SPI ports serve as tunnel interfaces for the remote peripheral (gmsl2). The operation is regulated to be carried out within the vehicle temperature range of - 40 ° C to 105 ° C. the thermal design is appropriate and the equipment is qualified by aec-q100.
